Fireworks will light up the night sky on Oct. 7 when Wylie Police Department hosts National Night Out from 6 to 8 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
The evening, which is dedicated to presenting a show of unity against criminal activity, will include free hot dogs, Kettle Corn and drinks, bounce houses, pony rides, face painting and public safety displays.
"Our goal is to bring the community together and raise awareness of crime prevention in Wylie," said Crime Prevention Officer Angie McIntosh. "We continue to promote a strong community network of active, involved citizens, working hand in hand with the police to keep the crime rate dropping lower and lower."
