Smooth jazz will rock Wylie JazzArts Fest April 18
Shop for fine art, dine from a selection of food trucks, and listen to the smooth sounds of professional jazz musicians, college ensembles and area high school jazz bands, Saturday, April 18, 9 am - 9 pm, at the Wylie JazzArts Fest.
The architecturally award winning Wylie Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Rd., and its many public art installations will serve as the backdrop for this community event sponsored by the City of Wylie and the Public Art Advisory Board.
Professional performers include the US Air Force Band of the West, Kris Berg and the Metroplexity Big Band, Hale Baskin Orchestra, Marc Toussaint Combo, and Ray Baker. Collin College will also take the stage along with Wylie High School, Wylie High School Band II, Wylie East High School, Plano East High School and Plano East Combo. Wylie’s Cooper and McMillan junior highs will also perform.
Attendees may design a free hat with Rad Hatter or contribute to the Community Canvas that will be hung in the Wylie Recreation Center upon completion. Fine art in many disciplines will be on display and available for purchase. Student artists from Wylie High Schools and Wylie Preparatory Academy will also display a selection of art.
