Where to See the Best Holiday Lights This Weekend

There's nothing cozier than driving around at night, gazing at twinkling lights as you sip hot chocolate and listen to Christmas tunes. Luckily, the DFW area is full of wonderful neighborhoods and attractions to visit this weekend if you're looking for holiday lights. Check out some of the most beloved ones below.

Deerfield in Plano

Every year, this neighborhood puts on a display unlike any other. You can walk or drive through the brightly-lit streets, and for the second year, you can vote on your favorite decorated home. If you want, you can even take a carriage rides through the neighborhood if you reserve one in advance. No matter how you visit, you'll love the seasonal decorations and sparkling lights draped over almost every house.

Interlochen Lights in Arlington

From now until Christmas day, the Interlochen Neighborhood will put on a spectacular show of residential lights. Show up around 7:00 PM and spend the next hour or two driving around, picking out your favorite houses and listening to the local holiday radio stations. Known as one of the best spots for holiday light spotting in the entire state, Interlochen won't disappoint.

Christmas in the Frisco Square

Surprisingly, this is where you can find the largest choreographed holiday lights and music show in North Texas. For the 14th year in a row, the square will draw thousands of visitors to witness the impressive display. You can also participate in ice skating on an outdoor rink until January 7.

Enchant Christmas in Arlington

Right now at Globe Park, you can wander through a massive Christmas maze complete with lights, an ice skating rink, and even Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Tickets are required to enter, but if you can snag a deal on Groupon, they're pretty reasonably priced. Make sure to check out the Christmas market that's outside the maze, too.

Highland Park Neighborhood in Dallas

This suggested walk around Highland Park will show you the best way to view the amazing Christmas light displays. The route will take you past all of the best areas, and you can either stroll through the lights or drive along the road in your car. Either way, you'll see why so many people travel to Highland Park at this time of year.

Historic Downtown Ennis

Although this destination is a bit of a drive from the immediate DFW area, it's well worth the trek. The cute downtown area is lit up for the holidays, and if you go on Saturday night, you can see a live theater performance titled "Where's Santa?" Then, on Sunday at 5:30 PM, you can pay to attend Polar Express Night at one of the local churches.
