Bubbles, Kites, 3D Printing: Spring Break at Smith Library

Wylie’s Smith Public Library is offering three spring break camps for kids, tweens and teens.

Spring Break Kids: Professor Pop Outdoor Bubble Show will be Tuesday, March 13, at 10:30 a.m. Professor Pop will perform amazing tricks on the lawn behind the library. There will be bubbles inside bubbles, square bubbles, giant bubbles and more. Kids get involved, and Professor Pop teaches them to do bubble tricks of their own with supplies they probably have at home. The show is performed to music, is fast paced and fun, and the beauty of having it outdoors is that the wind does its part to create bubble magic. All ages are welcome but children 9 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Spring Break Tweens: Kite Building is planned for Wednesday, March 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. Tweens in fourth through sixth grades are invited to explore the science behind kite flying, build a kite out of recycled materials, and fly it! Registration required on the library’s Kids Page beginning Feb. 28.

Spring Break Teens: Tinkercad and 3D Printing will be Thursday, March 15, from 2 to 3 p.m. Teens in grades six through 12 will learn the basics of 3D printing using Tinkercad and print their creations with the library’s 3D printer. Registration is required on the library’s Teen Page beginning Feb. 28. Space is limited, and participants will need to create a Tinkercad account online before participating in the program.

All library Spring Break camps are free of charge. Smith Library is part of the Wylie Municipal Complex at 300 Country Club Rd., Bldg. 300. Call 973-516-6250 for more information.
