Wylie's Smith Library Summer Reading Club begins May 20 and runs through Aug. 3, with free programs, activities, and events encouraging kids, teens, and adults to read all summer long. Participants are welcome from Wylie and surrounding areas. This year's theme is "A Universe of Stories."

Participants may pick up a reading log May 20 and keep track of the number of books or hours read until Aug. 3. Turn in logs between June 17 and Aug. 3, receive a reward, and be entered to win the grand prize, awarded in three age groups.

Kids - For every 25 books or 10 hours read, kids entering fifth grade or younger will get a completion certificate and free paperback book, while supplies last. Each completed log means a chance to win a grand prize: Amazon Fire HD 7 Kids Edition Tablet 16 GB; family membership for four to Trinity River Audubon Center; or a Folkmanis puppy puppet and two hardcover books.

Teens - Teens in sixth through 12th grade may read 10 hours for a free paperback book, while supplies last. Each completed log is a chance to enter the drawing for one of the grand prizes: Kindle Fire HD 8 Tablet 16 GB; $100 STEAM online gaming gift card; or $50 Ticketmaster plus $50 iTunes gift cards.

Adults - Readers age 18 and older are invited to read or listen to three books and complete a log. The first completed log earns a browsing tote bag, while supplies last. All logs are entered into the grand prize drawing for: $125 gift certificate to the AT&T Performing Arts Center; $65 gift card to Top Golf plus a $65 gift card to iFLY Indoor Skydiving; or $125 gift certificate to Red Door Escape Room.
