Wylie's Smith Library hosts activities and club meetings for all ages during the month of April. (For story times, visit WylieTexas.gov/library.)

LEGO League: April 3 and 5, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Kids in first- through fourth grades invited to show off their creativity and build around a different theme every month. April's theme is "Slip & Slide." Age limits enforced; no older or younger siblings or parents please. Space is limited. Registration is required at the Children's Desk.

My Very Own Book Club: April 10 and 12, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. First- and second-graders are encouraged to read the book of the month on their own and then come to the meeting for discussion and a craft. April's title is "Narwhal, Unicorn of the Sea," by Ben Clanton. Sign up at the Children's Desk. Participation is limited, but all participants get a free copy of the book.

3rd Grade Voyagers Club: April 18 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. This is a learning club just for third-graders. Each month, a different topic is explored. April's topic is "Digging in the Garden." Register at the Children's Desk; space is limited.

BeTween Book & Movie Club: April 25 from 6 to 7 p.m. Fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders are invited to discuss different books that have movie adaptations after reading the book and watching the movie on their own. At the meeting, they'll watch scenes from the movie, read excerpts from the book, discuss, and have a snack. Sign up at the Children's Desk; the first 50 kids to sign up get a free copy of the April book, "How to Train Your Dragon," by Cressida Cowell.

Teen Book Club: April 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. Sixth- through 12th-graders invited to enjoy snacks and drinks at the meeting. Stop by the Teen Room for more information and to register. April's book is "Scythe," by Neal Shusterman.

Japanimation Club: April 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. Sixth- through 12th-graders invited to geek out about all things anime and manga in the Multi-Purpose Room. No registration required.

Family LEGO Build: April 24 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. All ages welcome to come show off their creativity by building with the library's LEGO and DUPLO sets. Kids 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

Booked on Fridays: April 12 from noon to 1 p.m. Adults 18 and older invited to bring a lunch or snack and enjoy engrossing reads and good conversation. Copies of the featured book are available at the Library Help Desk or on Overdrive. April's title is "Miss Jane," by Brad Watson.

Wrote a Novel? Now Edit!: April 4 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Adults age 18 and older invited to attend this workshop by mystery writer Rebecca Adler to learn the basics of editing fiction to better serve stories and readers. Register on the library's website www.WylieTexas.gov/library .
