On October 7, 2014, communities across the United States came together to strengthen relationships between police officers and community members while also promoting neighborhood safety through National Night Out festivities.  In the City of Richardson, National Night Out celebrations include neighborhood block and house parties throughout the city. Neighbors gathered together with their local Richardson Police Department officers for an evening of socializing, education and giving back.

Each year, the Richardson Police Department hosts a National Night Out Food Drive to benefit NETWORK of Community Ministries. Neighborhood Associations are asked to include food drive donations as part of their festivites for the night.  This year, the NETWORK was blessed to receive more than 6,000 lbs. of food through the National Night Out food drive.  On a weekly basis, NETWORK provides 10,000lbs of food to our neighbors in need. The food drive donations received from National Night Out have a direct impact on our ability to feed families as we enter the holiday season.

Strong community partnerships are what make our City so special.  Together, we can continue to work together to fight crime and helps those in need.  A special thank you to the Richardson Police Department, the Neighborhood Homeowners’ Associations, and the countless caring Richardson residents.

The NETWORK of Community Ministries, founded in 1985, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to caring, coaching and empowering neighbors in need as they seek an improved quality of life.  84% of all donations to NETWORK go directly to program services through the Adolescent and Children’s Clinic, Emergency Services, and Seniors’ Net.  NETWORK is located at 741 S. Sherman, Richardson, TX75081.
