Phil Ferguson & Texas True will perform June 27.

Wylie will indeed be wide awake June 27 for Bluegrass on Ballard, a free festival featuring top bands, a car show, arts and crafts and great food. The event in historic downtown Wylie continues the tradition of drawing citizens and members of neighboring communities in to the heart of the city to hear great music and celebrate summer.

Slated to perform are top bluegrass bands including Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, Texas & Tennessee, featuring Steve Huber and John R. Bowman, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band, Phil Ferguson & Texas True, In Achordance, and Bobby Giles & Music Mountain.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with arts and crafts vendors in Olde City Park, a chili cook-off and great food, and goes through the evening with a 150-car show and bands performing from 3 to 10 p.m. Bring your instrument and pick and jam with other musicians on the street or in shops and restaurants!
