Smith Public Library and Wylie Recreation Center team up to present the annual Summer Reading Club Kick-off Party June 9 from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Kids can jump on a bounce house, fly down an inflatable slide, groove to live music performed by Will Parker, create a whimsical hat with the Rad Hatter, laugh at BooCoos the Clown, take a train ride, pet animals, and get lost in an inflatable maze.
The Summer Reading Club runs May 22 - Aug. 5, with free programs, activities and events designed to encourage kids, teens and adults to read all summer long. Pick up a reading log and keep track of books or hours read through Aug. 5, then turn in logs beginning June 19 to receive a reward and be entered to win grand prizes awarded in three age groups.
