The Wylie P.O.L.I.C.E. (Practice of Leadership, Integrity, and Character Education) Club is hosting its third annual Parents' Night Out event Friday, Dec. 1., from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Cooper Junior High gym. Parents are invited to drop their kindergarten through sixth-grade youngsters at Cooper, where they will be entertained by the teen members of the P.O.L.I.C.E. Club while parents take care of some Christmas shopping or enjoy a night out.
Per-child cost is $10 plus a new, unwrapped toy for local underprivileged children. The $10 goes to support the P.O.L.I.C.E. Club as its members learn about law enforcement and support various events and causes in the Wylie community.
Drinks and snacks will be provided, along with bounce houses, carnival-style games, a cake walk, crafts, a movie and more. Space is limited to the first 200. Registration is required; register at http://www.wylietexas.gov/departments/police/p_o_l_i_c_e_club.php . Participation is open to all youngsters, including those not enrolled in a Wylie ISD campus.
"Parents, come enjoy a night out while we entertain the kids," said club sponsor Officer Michael Stewart. "Last year's Parents' Night Out was a huge success, and the little ones who attended had a blast!"
