The City of Wylie Parks and Recreation Department will be giving away free trees from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, in celebration of Texas Arbor Day.
This year, Wylie has partnered with the Texas Trees Foundation and Girl Scout Service Unit 148 to hand out live oak and American elm tree seedlings.
The celebration will be held at the Wylie Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Rd., in the breezeway between the Wylie Recreation Center (Building 200) and the Smith Public Library (Building 300). These seedlings will be free to the public, and each one will be tagged with planting instructions.
Join the Wylie Parks and Recreation Department as we celebrate this day set aside to rejoice in the beauty of trees and to recognize the way they enrich our lives, communities and landscapes.
