Usher in the holiday season with the annual Wylie Arts Festival Dec. 6. Savor the season with fine art and unique, handmade crafts from more than 100 vendors, offering everything from jewelry to home décor to clothing to paintings to gift items. The smell of festive fair foods will fill the air, and kids can paint an 18-foot Community Canvas, under the supervision of an artist. At 5:30 pm, it's the Festival of Lights Parade down Ballard Avenue, ending at Olde City Park for the tree lighting and traditional reading of "A Visit from St. Nicholas," (aka "The Night Before Christmas") by Mayor Eric Hogue. The City of Wylie and the Public Arts Advisory Board present this event for the fifth year. For more information, visit wylietexas.gov/artsfestival.
