Let's celebrate! Wylie's Summer Reading Club kicks off June 10 with a free party, co-hosted by Smith Public Library and Wylie Recreation Center. Kids can jump in a bounce house, slide on an inflatable slide, dance to the DJ's tunes, make a hat with the Rad Hatter, get up close and personal with animals in the petting zoo, laugh at Boocoos the Clown, and visit the Perot Museum Tech Truck. Overflow parking at Wylie High School, 2550 W. FM 544, Wylie, with complimentary shuttle to Wylie Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Rd. Most activities are outside between the library and rec center, so dress for summer play.
Summer Reading Club begins May 31 and runs through July 30, with free programs, activities and events designed to encourage kids, teens and adults to read all summer long. Pick up a reading log, keep track of books read through July 30, and enter to win great prizes.
