The City of Wylie and Public Arts Advisory Board present the seventh annual Wylie Arts Festival Dec. 2. Join us in historic downtown Wylie and shop for fine art and unique, handmade crafts at more than 140 vendors, listen to the sounds of the season, and enjoy festive fair foods. Admission is free.
Vendors are handpicked by the Public Arts Advisory Board to ensure a diverse selection of handmade fine art and craft items. You'll find everything from jewelry to home décor to clothing to paintings to gift items that can't be found anywhere else -- there is something for everyone. The downtown merchants also welcome you to stop by and discover the many shops lining Ballard Avenue.
Children's activities include inflatables, a petting zoo and barrel train, as well as face painting, a chance to paint on the community canvas, and more.
Make a day of it! The Festival of Lights Christmas Parade is at 7:30 p.m., also on Ballard Avenue, and, following the parade, head down to Olde City Park, 112 S. Ballard Ave., for the tree lighting and Mayor Eric Hogue's reading of "A Visit from St. Nicholas," aka "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
