Wylie's teen P.O.L.I.C.E. Club's co-ed, slow-pitch softball tournament has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 2. The tournament was originally planned for early November, but wet fields caused the postponement.
All the teams have been lined up for the contest, but everyone is invited to come cheer on their favorite team. There is no charge to watch the games.
The P.O.L.I.C.E. Club is made up of students from Wylie East and Wylie High and is sponsored by the Wylie Police school resource officers. The organization gives students a better understanding of the law enforcement profession and teaches them the importance of good leadership and character traits. Members volunteer at community events such as National Night Out, Boo on Ballard, and the Wylie Championship Rodeo.
They will be hosting a Parents' Night Out fundraiser on Nov. 30 from 6 - 10 p.m. at Cooper Junior High School. For more information about the tournament or Parents' Night Out, visit http://www.wylietexas.gov/departments/police/support_services/p_o_l_i_c_e_club.php .
