Fans of award-winning, Broadway smash "Hamilton" are invited to come sing and rap the full musical at Wylie's Smith Public Library Tuesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m., as the library presents Hamilton the Musical Singalong for age 18 and up.
Presented by Hamiltunes Dallas and accompanied by DJ RJ Spinners, it's an opportunity to sing along with the great "Hamilton" classics or to kick back and be part of the audience. Hamiltunes Dallas is an official partner to "Hamilton," Lin-Manual Miranda's musical that depicts the life of Alexander Hamilton, American founding father, and incorporates hip-hop, R&B, and pop music. "Hamilton" won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2016 and has been the toughest ticket to get since it premiered in late 2015. These officially endorsed sing-alongs have been taking place all around the country, beginning with the first editions of Hamiltunes L.A. in Los Angeles in late 2015.
Registration is limited and will continue until the morning of July 10. Register to sing or be part of the audience at WylieTexas.gov/library. Those performing will receive more instructions by email. The event is free.
Smith Library is part of the Wylie Municipal Complex at 300 Country Club Rd., Bldg. 300. Call 972-516-6250 for more information.
